Addie's Daddy

There is something so special about a father-daughter relationship. From the moment we found out we were having a little girl, I know she was going to be loved (and very spoiled) by her dad...I was right. Chris got our little one to sleep the other night and he had no intentions of her moving from his side. :)

The Southern Charm

Smocking...not many people in California have heard of this but it's a staple in the south. I grew up wearing various smocked outfits that my mom made. I must say that it's beyond impressive how these are made and how much time it takes...my mom is truly talented. Needless to say, when my family in the south heard that we were having a daughter, smocked outfits were started immediately. Already Addie has about 10 of them in her closet so naturally we had to take some pictures of her in Nina's (my mom) favorite.

1st Photo Shoot

It's funny how babies can recongize sounds while they are in the womb. For Addison, the sound of a camera clicking was a familiar sound since she was with me through an entire wedding season. Many people joked that our daughter will have her picture taken more than the average child...I think they were right. Chris and I jumped on the opportunity to snap off a few shots of our beautiful little one while she was in a good mood. She is too cute! God is so good to us and we love just watch her yawn, sleep and yes, even cry.

The First Bath

Well...it's wasn't only Addie's first bath at home, but it was also mom and dad's first time giving a little one a bath. It was quite an experience with many laughs by us and tears by Addison. Luckily Chris was diligent enough to watch the nurse at the hospital so we knew the order of what to wash - he's a great dad. All in all, it was a success and the pacifier became our best friend.

Addison Grace Blake

Our beautiful and long awaited daughter has finally arrived... Addie Grace was born on Wednesday February 6th at 9:16PM. She weighed in at a healthy 8lbs 10oz and measured a tall 20in long. She gave us a bit of a scare when she arrived with the umbilical cord wrapped around her little neck three times, but Dr. Monroy and the nurses got her breathing quickly.

She is perfect and we feel so incredibly blessed to have this little girl in our life. Here are a few pictures from the hospital and there are plenty more to come...
