Amazing Husband

It's true...Chris is great. It's so reassuring to me that I have a husband that is beyond comfortable with Addie. This past weekend, he decided to venture up to Modesto for a quick trip since I had a wedding and Eilers was having his second birthday party. Chris packed up the house, baby food, etc and headed on a trip with the Little Girl. They had a great time visiting Chris's family. Grammy bought Addie a cute chair just her size for Gavin's soccer game, Addie got to hang out with her Great Grandma Blake and she even took a nap in bed with Papa and Grammy...that was one of my favorites! Needless to say, I got some great rest while they were gone but I was ready to have them home.

Random Hats

We are learning more and more that Addie enjoys hats. With the weather starting to changed, we purchased some warmer hats for her that are a bit too big but we had to try them on. We laugh that she kind of looks like a hippy baby. As for the birthday hat...there is never a dull day in the life of the Blakes. We were getting ready for a Young Life game and were making pie-tin hats. We had an extra birthday hat that I put on Addie and I got so tickled by it. Chris wasn't in the room but he heard my laugh, and knowing me well, he knew I put something silly on her by the sound of my giggle.

Downtown with Becca and Braden

Young Life is having their second annual golf tournament this Friday so naturally we are trying to get everything together. One of my sweet friends, Becca, offered to help out asking local businesses for donations so we made a morning out of it with the kids. They both were great and we had a nice time ourselves...it's sooo much better doing stuff like this with friends. Thanks Becca!!!!!

Here's Addie in the stroller going from store to store. :)

Dirty Baby

It's official: Addie is eating solids, we aren't the best at making it to her mouth, and we leave the leftovers on her clothes.

We went the the downtown park the other evening for ice cream and we couldn't help but laugh at how Addie looked. She had sweet potatoes all down her shirt, drool all on her chin and snot running down her nose. We saw some folks we knew so we quickly zipped up her jacket to try to hide the mess...wasn't much use. Needless to say, she had fun at the park.

Sunday + Video Games + the Drakes

Some of our favorite people to be with are the Drakes. We have gone on vacation, worked a crazy Vegas convention and can just "be" with them...it's effortless. We haven't seen them in a long time due to work schedules and the addition of a little person so we decided to spend Sunday together. We met up for lunch at the Sea Shanty and ate any and everything bad for us then headed back to their house to play video games. Yes, adults play video games. It always makes for good laughs since I am HORRIBLE at them but it's fun just to be with friends. Addie was great all day and enjoyed crawling around...and looking at their dog.

Saturday mornings

With me still having wedding after wedding on Saturdays, Chris and Addie have gotten into a fun routine on Saturdays. After we all get up, he'll take her downstairs to watch some Saturday cartoons while I either get ready or try to get a little extra sleep. It's one of my favorite things to see when I come downstairs...sometimes they'll both be alseep. This Saturday Addiw was in a great mood and her strawberry hat made us laugh...it was cold.

Do my cheeks look big?

Need we say more?

7 months old

I feel I just wrote that Addie is 16 years old...she is getting so big so quick. I don't think I am ready for it all but each month is so much fun. She is a blast right now! She loves to give that huge mouth smile, is crawling like a pro (loves crawling on the kitchen or bathroom floor because of the tile), knows how to clap, slowly learning to wave, sits up and plays with anything you put infront of her, and loves her mom and dad...our favorite! I think teething is itching its way into our lives too because she has been a drool-monster lately and a little touchy. Each night we sit down and marvel at how blessed we are and how beautiful our little girl is...

Sweet friend

When we lived in San Luis Obispo, Chris and I had a dear friend Michelle. Serving in ministry herself at the time, Michelle was a wealth of knowledge and humor for us....oh, she also had a role in our wedding. She has since moved to OR and owns an amazing business (www.atticjournals.com). She was in town this week for a wedding and we got to walk around farmer's market with her last night. Upon driving home to the North County, Chris and I found ourselves missing our talks and time with "Sanders." She is a special friend with an amazing heart...wish she was closer.
