Silly Girl

Addie is full of smiles, giggles, songs, and silly sayings these days. Chris and I feel she never stops talking...but we love it. Her hair as you can see is slowly growing and looked like an amazing mullet this morning. Her Minnie Mouse pj's were a hit from Mimi and Papa and she never wants to take them off.

Gold Star Student!!!!!

Our Shelby Rose is a smarty-pants! She got her GPA for the last term and had a 3.83! We were thrilled for her and had to go out to celebrate. We headed down to SLO as a family with Brittany for pizza at Woodstocks. Shelby's favorite pizza is Hawaiian and of course we had to get the cinna-bread for dessert. Shelby, you are growing into a beautiful woman both inside and out. We are proud of you and cannot wait until we see you graduate...as a gold start student!!!

Morro Bay with the Little Girl

Chris took a few days off of work and we got to tackle some things around the house and be as a family. It was great. This particular day we took Addie to Morro Bay to run at the beach and see the seagulls. It was BEAUTIFUL and so much fun. She didn't understand why she couldn't run into the ocean since her curiosity was pulling her towards it. The waves were huge when we were there and it's always impressive to watch them. We finished up the day getting some great food at a local restaurant that over looks the Bay...we live in an amazing place.

Family Bowling

We tried over the break to do some things as a family. This particular night we packed up and heading to the bowling alley in Paso...one of the few things there is to do at night. We all thought we would do great since we had some practice at Wii bowling but unfortunately we were terrible. Shelby would either get a strike or a gutter ball, Chris has extreme power but the ball liked the gutter too and I was crazy and couldn't look normal while throwing the ball for the life of me. We might have looked ridiculous but at least we had fun.

Christmas

Christmas day was a nice, relaxing time at the Blake house. We woke up about 7:30ish and opened presents with the girls. Shelby received more clothes, shoes and makeup than she knows what to do with (thanks family!) and Addie got toys, books, a tent and potty. The tent came with two small tunnel sections and at one point in the day, she had the tunnel standing up, she was inside it, sitting on the potty and watching TV. :) Really funny. She doesn't get the concept of using the potty for certain things but right now it's a great chair.

We had the traditional cinnamon rolls and bacon for breakfast and then laid around the house. We decided to venture up to Modesto on Christmas day but we left after Addie's nap. It was great to be at our house when we woke up and then the rest of the family that evening. We are blessed.

Shelby got a Hannah Montana microphone in her stocking and both Addie and Shelby loved it...note to self...by two next time.

Christmas Eve

We have found a new tradition for our Christmas Eve celebration: Christmas Eve service, pizza, open one gift (always pj's), Charlie Brown Christmas and decorate cookies. It was great, simple and perfect for us. Addie was too funny at the Christmas Eve service since the nursery was closed due to the service being "family friendly." She was singing "Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" in the middle of the prayer...in particular, "the doggies on the bus go ruff ruff ruff!" We were dying laughing!

Don't trust the box...I ran out of boxes so Addie's pj's were wrapped in this.

Family Hike...Bishop Peaks

Last week we took a family adventure to SLO to hike Bishop Peak. It was amazing! We should have done this months ago. Luckily our sweet friends let us borrow their kids backpack for Addie...sadly she is almost past the weight limit. Chris was a rockstar and hiked the way up with Addie and I took the shift on the way down. Shelby brought her boyfriend, Dylan or "baby face" as we call him. They enjoyed jumping around up top with Chris all over the rocks and such. All in all, it was a great day and fun to do something like this as a family.
