Atascadero Park with Jack-Jack

We got to spend the evening with some of our favorite folks here in Paso...the Hamons. Their son, Jack, is one of the two babies that we call "The Happiest Baby In The World." We went to Atascadero for a Kiwanis BBQ extravaganza for Chris's club and had a great time. Addie went down her first slide experience with Chris and she loved being outside as the music was playing in the park. We love where we live and love the folks we are with.

She could go...all...the...way!!!

As promised, here are some pictures of Addie Grace in her crawling adventures. I have to say, she is getting fast! Put a remote, cell phone or spatula in front of her and she'll fly...for me, it's put a latte or milkshake. :)

This picture just made us laugh since Addie makes this face whenever she is concentrating on something. She'll puff out the cheeks and rock the double chin...so proud.

Crawling...

Yes, it's true. Addie is starting to crawl before our very eyes. It's an army, butt in the air, flop-ish crawl but she is a mover and a shaker. I am determined to get the camera out to snap off a sequence of it...too funny. With crawling comes some interesting things too...falling. Today she was on the bed playing as I was cleaning my closet from ants and down she went off the side. I turned right as she fell...luckily her butt hit first but it was enough to scare us both. No more bed.

Hats

Lately I have felt that I have to wear many hats...mom, photographer, YL leader, neighbor, etc. I wish I could say I have worn all of them successfully but I feel that my "mom hat" is often sacrificed. I end some nights wondering if I had loved Addie like I am called to. Yesterday was one of those days so I told myself that today I didn't want to work much and wanted to just "be" with Addie. We walked, played, shopped, had lunch with Dad and hung out. These pics are some of us just hanging out with a hat that Addie got. She looked too funny with it on. Unfortunately as I was putting up my camera, she fell back and hit her head on the chair...ug. I am learning...Addie first, work second.

Big kids bath

Sitting up really does open up a new world with Addie. She is so content just hanging out with toys and playing....and now, being in the tub. It was a bitter sweet thing watching her not use the baby tub since it means she is growing but each stage gets better and better. We are so blessed with our Little Girl.

Frog Pool

As you might know, Paso gets hot. One would think that a pool in the backyard for your kiddo would be key...note to self: only use the frog pool on warm days. We decided to finally use the frog but the weather was rather cool. Poor Addie. We had to warm up some water from the kitchen but she loved being in it. It was fun seeing her sit up and just play...she's getting so big.

Sleeping with pictures of cousins

When my brother and sister-in-law were pregnant with their first, Chris and I put together this kids books with pictures of just us. When we got pregnant with Addie, they did the same for us. Just recently I gave the photo book to her and she loves holding it, flipping through it and seeing the pictures of her family. We have been taking it everywhere with us and we caught her asleep with it. I thought Aunt Tara and Uncle Todd would get a kick out of it. :) Miss you guys!

Hanging in the park with Rylan

We have made some new dear friends in our neighborhood that we love. Rylan is the little guy and I seriously think that Addie might have a crush. We were eating ice cream in the park with Christin and Kenny and decided to put the kids on the grass to play. Addie started singing/squealing to Rylan and we all died laughing...especially when Rylan responded back with "beautiful" sounds too. I have a video too but Chris posts those. :)

Random

We just thought this was a funny face...

Sweet Potatoes

We have tried a new food...sweet potatoes. Addie loves them! She will seriously down a jar in no time. We are still trying to get this whole spoon feeding thing down but at least she is flexible with us. ;)

6 Months Old!!!

Wow...it's crazy to think that our little girl is on the second half of her first year! She is amazing. She loves making noises, grabbing thing, laughing at dad, being held by mom, standing...and more standing. She is sitting up like a champ and of course loves to eat. Today at her appointment she was 26 inches long and 16 pounds 14 ounces! She has gained so much weight in the last 2 weeks...no more concerns on her size. We took some pictures, like always, and couldn't narrow them down so we made a quick show. Hope you enjoy as much as we did looking at them!

Happy 5 year anniversary us!!!

It is truly hard to believe that it's been 5 years already that Chris and I have been married...each year has gotten better and better and I can truly say that I would not want to be married to anyone else. I scored! We have had some amazing memories over the last few years with Addie being the best.

To celebrate, we spent the entire day together as a family and had my best friend Janay watch Addie so we could have dinner out. During the day we went to the park, walked for about 45 minutes then just pulled up a spot of grass and played with the Little Girl for about an hour. It was like we were in our own little bubble at the park...we had so much fun. For dinner we headed out to eat and I got to eat without feeding or juggling a wiggly baby! We had pasta, wine and great conversation. I am a blessed person.

Gentian Violet

Yes, that is a purple mouth that our daughter has. It's been a long road for Addie and I so we have tried an herbal method for her while I am on some antibiotics. We have gotten some pretty interesting comments, "did your baby eat a sharpie?!" while she was one this for 3 days as well as Chris and I have had some great laughs. It just looks wrong to have your baby and everything she touches turn purple! Needless to say, she is finished and her mouth is back to normal...praise the Lord.
