I love the Cranks! How I wish they all lived closer so Addie could enjoy playing with girls...and mom and dad could enjoy chatting it up with Jeff and Mel. The week after Addie's birthday, we ventured up to have a girl's retreat with Mel, Josie and Sweet Baby Anna. The husbands had work so we literally just played with the girls and talked until late at night while they were asleep. Mel is one of my friends that is just easy to pick up where we left off. Here are just a few (lame) pictures from the time. Josie introduced Addie to painting and Addie introduced Josie to using your hands and not the brush. I wish I had pictures from the girls chasing the chickens, torturing the cats and running around the house. Sorry.
Addie's birthday party was a success and huge hit with her close friends and family. It was incredible to see all the kids...and adults...playing and laughing. Honestly, I think we really rented out the gymnastics place for Addie to jump on the trampoline the whole time but it was worth it. Annibell came up for the festivities so Shelby got to enjoy the best of both worlds....all in all, a great party.
Addie loves to dress herself as Mr. Potato Head. The tongue is almost like a binkie to her because she will walk around the house with it in forever. When Chris puts the red lips on, Addie will always give him a kiss. Funny.
I find myself shocked that Addie is already 2. I figured that her turning one would be the hardest on me, but that was easy...this two thing has caused me to get teary eyed often. Where did the time go?! Addie is more beautiful, fun, lively and silly each day. She is the joy of our lives and we couldn't ask for more. Here a few images at birth, 1 year old and now 2 years old:
So here is what I came home to on Monday....Dad's creation for Addie. She is in love with being naked but got cold running around the house so put on blankie with some scotch tape.
As you know, Addie is beyond content in driving either one of our cars. She can easily sit in the car for about 30 minutes and play...push every button, take out all the CD's, buckle seat belts, play with toys and read. It's not a rare thing for me to put her in the driver's seat while I unload the groceries. This particular day, Chris was washing his car and of course Addie had to assist. When the drying process was happening, it apparently was time for her to jump inside and play. We got a good giggle because at one point we looked in at her and she had her stuffed elephant buckled in her car seat while she was in the driver's seat buckled in "driving." We asked what she was doing and she said "I'm driving elephant." Wow...almost as good as the other day when she grabbed her play purse and said, "Bye bye Mommy. I go to the grocery." I almost died.
