Name that person!

That's right folks...it's Paige Davis off of Trading Spaces!!! At my wedding this past weekend I saw a gal that looked like her but dismissed the thought since there was no way she would be in Cambria, CA. Then, my assistant came up to me before the ceremony with a huge smile on her face. I asked what the deal was and she said that an idol to her was here...Paige. Shelbea is a huge TLC fan. After chatting with the Groom, I came to find out that she was his step sister...small world!!! Naturally I tried to play it cool since I have never met anyone famous before but then I secretly snapped off some pictures of her too. So funny!

Random Pictures

Bath time is one of our favorite times with Addie. She definitely is a water baby and loves to play with her rubber hippo in the tub...rubber hippo is sung instead of rubber ducky. The bath seems to calm her down and by the time we wrap her in the towel, she is so snuggly. We always wanted to grab a picture of it since she looks so sweet...Chris captured it well this night.




Long story short, the YL Office is in transition therefore Chris is having to work from home in my office...good thing I have a large, long desk. Here's a time where he juggles being a full time area director and dad...Addie is a natural with the computer (just like her dad).

The Grumpo Lip!...and don't forget the ever flowing drool. This does not give you the full effect of the grump lip but it's pretty close. Addie is a complete girl and gets this huge lip when she gets upset. It makes us laugh everything...especially when there is drool pouring out too. :)

Sleeping

So, like any new parents, we are trying to get this sleep thing down. Addie was the baby that could not sleep without being swaddled which is fine but if her arms got the least little bit free, she would wake up crying. After a few nights of getting up 5-6 times for the swaddle, we decided to try teaching her to sleep without it. Yes, it was a hard and scary decision, but it's proved to work! I think she likes the freedom and she is sleeping. She slept from 8:30 (got to bed later than usual) until 3:00, got soothed back to sleep and up at 5:00 to eat then slept until 8:00 am!!! I have not had that much sleep since before our little one was born!!! Needless to say, we all felt rather rested today and it was great.

Now for the picture, I pulled her into bed with me to eat since I wasn't feeling top notch. Well, she fell asleep too and slept in our bed for about an hour and a half...she's never done that. We thought she looked so sweet so we had to grab a picture. :)

Chris turns 30!

It's official, he's no longer in the 20's! Saturday we had a small get together at the pool in our neighborhood and had birthday party for Chris...nothing like pizza, pool and a pinata. :) Since so many of our friends have kids, it was great to have the pool to keep them all in one area. Chris's folks and sister's family came in for the celebration...as always, it was great having them there. We are blessed with an amazing family.

I caught this while Jess and I were upstairs. We just got back from running some errands before the party and I looked down to see if Addie was still asleep and found her safe with dad. :)
Uncle Rhino (Joel)...there's a story behind the adult diaper. Sarah thought she forgot a diaper for Merek to wear to bed. Well, only Young Life staffers would have adult diapers in their garage for club games! Joel decided to put it on and of course we had to quickly capture it.

Jessica's Visit

It was great having Jess here to visit. She originally had a reservation to visit when Addie would have been 3 weeks old, but since our little one decided to come almost 2 weeks late, Jess changed her ticket. I am so glad she came when Addie was this age because she is just at a fun stage right now. Addie loved Jess and the attention she gave her. It was fun to see them together...surreal since Jess and I have been friends since kindergarten and now I have a baby!!! I am so thankful for Jess and I love seeing the person she has become.

Berry Cute

Jessica is in town visiting and it's like old times...it's as if no time has passed between the last time we saw each other. Before her visit, I told Addie all about Jess and how we grew up together. I had no worries that Addie would love Jess...I was right. She's giggling at her funny faces and looks BERRY CUTE in one of the many outfits that Jessica brought to spoil our little one. We are blessed with a great daughter and great friends.

Mother's Day

What a great day to just be with our family...that's fun to say. It's amazing how something not even 2 feet tall can change our lives so much and make our hearts literally mush...Addie is great. We spent the day together, went to church (I got the rose for being the newest mom there...funny), ate more food than we ever should, and ended with dinner at the Jelso's. Chris made me feel special like he always does with a HUGE breakfast, 2 bouquets of flowers and sweet cards. He also took some pictures of me and the little girl since I am always telling him that I don't have any...he is amazing.

3 Months Old!!!

It's official, Addie is turning into a baby and not an infant. She has been so much fun lately and is full of funny sounds, coos and smiles. It's crazy to think that 3 months have gone by...and that we have been parents for that long. We are so blessed. (Oh, the pink monkey is Millie the Monkey...she's one of Addie's favorites).

Sleeping in the Bjorn

We all went on a walk this evening before Chris headed down to SLO for YL Club. After he left, I decided to keep walking since Addie was a little fussy and tired. Half way through, I looked down and saw that she had fallen asleep...She was out! I did noticed that when we walked by a mother and daughter on the street they looked at me funny. I now know it was because I was clueless that my child was sleeping...oops.

11 week old pictures

This shirt has become one of Chris's favorites. Addie wore it today and when Chris saw it, he got the biggest smile...she is definitely a Daddy's girl!


We realized that we have not taken a picture of Addie's room for her baby book. I snapped a few off today. It's a bright room but she really enjoys it. She especially loves her changing table...she will coo and giggle on it all the time (except in the middle of the night when she gets changed).



Being the photographer for most of our pictures, I rarely get some with Addie. Here are some lame but funny "my space" style pictures that we took the other day.


So the story behind this is the bow. We got this bow before she was born and I put it on her one day after I changed her to see if Chris noticed. Instantly he started laughing. Addie had this serious look the whole time...her face might be a little too round for a bow. :)
